This week, we have another Portfolio Check, yay. But, we also learned a new set of modifiers that affect how a shape's dimensional value, or distort it. These tools are actually pretty useful for making certain shapes more, you know, shaped. A good example is the Nested Dodecahedron we did in class. It is less rigid than a shape that had most modifiers that we had before, some of the previous modifiers we used in this course were considered Parametric Tools. Like Bend, Shell, and spherify. So, a parametric modifier is really any sort of modifier that makes a shape rounder, not all since some surface modeling techniques, and even compound modifiers like sweep or blobmesh, can make a round shape. But, these tools are more suited to a single modifier that simply changes how round it is. Distinctly round Dodecahedron

I guess that's what I'm calling them now, since it's easier when I want to just make one. But, recently I've thought of moving away from the pitch dark eyes of the previous works. I decided to change this because, I felt that I didn't have enough characteristic in any characters. It was there to an extent, but doesn't fully show it. Also, it's hard to tell where they're looking, especially if it's the opposite direction of their heads, oof. So, making real eyes, with pupils and light, is not that hard. The thing is, it's really a bunch of circles, but very meticulously put together circles, which can change a lot about eyes. You can put a lot of detail into eyes, without even changing color or shape that often, how solid they look can change how "living" a person looks. While the area of shade is going to change their outlooks. But, sometimes, I still miss the solid, black eyes, it reminds me of a simpler time, euugh. a small piece of the experimentation process
Yes, it's a well known fact that if a movie was made for a game, it's DESTINED to be pretty bad. Mainly from a lack of communication of ideas from the original game, to "how the hell am I supposed to adapt this," this effect has been alleviated, a bit. Nowadays, video game movies have a semblance of what it should be about, at least. But, since most well known video games movies, and certain cartoons, are made in the 90s, and had that odd 90s flavor, this is the one of the first things that people think of. So, which movie, or movies, of a game would represent this the most? Obviously, Street Fighter, a personal favorite of my dad's, and a game that was pretty 90s in and of itself. But, there's so many different movies, and so many different styles, many try to be campy, somewhat serious, or actually telling a story. There are even some animated movies, many of which nobody talks about, probably since most are DVD movies, and many warn of the quality of most Direct-To-DVD movies, and the mediocrity of OVAs. So, how do all of these tackle the straight forward story of Street Fighter? Well, the one thing they all somewhat have are characters, albeit the characters in each of the games are pretty one dimensional. Which also means that you can't really flesh out a character. The main part of these movies that make them bad is their lack of focus, especially Street Fighter: The Movie, the other one with Jean- Claude Van Damme, it jumps, a lot. But, the animated movies are slow, for the most part. Which is odd for movies based off a fighting game. But, they aren't as unfocused as many other video games of the time, probably because Street Fighter was just a bit more grounded in reality, and focused on characters with deeper purpose. So, the main reason for making this movie themed is because we were kind of talking about the new Detective Pikachu trailer, which we all saw as odd. But, what we did is class aren't really the most interesting projects in the world. Just some REALLY long dice project, and a robot walker. Fun fact, dice, from D6 to D20, all have sides that count tho thier ascending and descending opposite. So, what else did we learn this week?
