This week we finally moved onto a new topic to use, audio and video editing. We had to make a slideshow with color, which i guess is as a small Color Theory review. This was actually really fun, since we had to think of a way to show a change in each of the images. I did this by using green, I transitioned from an urban green setting, to a more natural and alien like green setting, and making the images faster for tension to make the video more interesting. I think this is a bit like the logos we had to make, since this is so open-ended and varies from person to person. But, I took too long trying to find pictures, I even took a work day just to choose a color. So, the extra thing of uploading the video to YouTube, since i'm still assembling the slideshow. So, we have to work FAST on the assignments we have now. But, I'm just going to have to keep up. Well, let's research, say, color movies? But, it's pretty hard to tell where color movies originated because, well, color was developed in certain parts. Also, many movies are still made in black and white, so we should see where Technicolor originated in 1915, but it was just a fad, just like talking in films a before they were a thing. But, after WWII, it was widely accepted by the public. So, a bunch more innovation, including color theory, we have color today. So, what did we learn?

Uh oh. It's the special End Of Quarter posts part 2. So, I actually SHOWED my art that I make to another person, Mavis, and she thought it was good. But, I finally did this because other people's art stuff was on the board, I've heard of the board, it's a bit of an accomplishment. So, my art wasn't featured because I didn't really submit anything for the computer contest thing. I didn't submit because I didn't think we would do this much with it. So, in order to really expose myself and stuff, I'm talking about my stuff. So, my stuff, at home that is, not the school stuff, is a bit easy to make, in my opinion. Since, it's not a multiple draft, figure drawing, sort of art. The lines made are easy to edit until they are, since it's bit based and not messy if you continually try to draw a new line. This is why I mostly favor bit art, it's easier to edit, layer, and organize, also, Crusader Quest, the game most of them are based on, also features 16-bit sprites, so it just makes sense. But, I actually did draw in a certain sketch book for a while. I didn't have THAT much drawing education. So, I think they are good for a person that probably should. So, I think I'm a good art person, and I should probably show that more often. Image in Krita I'm working on. One of the original drawn images
Remember when we had that project about drafting and making logos to make three final logos? Well, I wanted to talk more about the logo project, because I personally loved doing it, not just because I got a nice hundred on it.
I like how we made different drafts of logos, other people probably would've hated this because they didn't do it at home, even though I did it during different classes. I loved this, because this is how lots of logos, iconic or not, are made. I even have a Ghost-busters DVD collection that shows the different iterations of the logo. So, this was a lot more important than many others would've thought. Even though I just made a couple of logos that I liked, and made a bunch of throw away logos because we needed TWENTY for review. The next part was to choose three, with Mr. B, and actually make them. The interview part wasn't so bad, but making the actual logos are really fun, since it required us to use the information we learned without being told how. This was fun, since I somewhat knew how make each of them. So, we are now making a menu this week, and it's coming together pretty well. .We learned stuff about illustrator again, but ACTUALLY used it for something that was fun and pretty cool. Like, making logos and using our own imaginations to do something than try to recreate something and having to restart OVER THREE TIMES. This project was personally my favorite, well, it would be if we could make our own company to make a logo for. But, making the logo was fun since it felt like we were applying our knowledge that we learned from the lectures, rather than be told which techniques we should use, and try to figure it out. I even got a hundred on this assignment, after fixing a spelling error and submitting PNGs of each logo. So, to get another hundred, I gotta research something, logos maybe? So, logos were made around the 18th-19th centuries and the Victorian era, since most societies are doing more global trade. Logos were made to differentiate each company, just as they are used today. Then, after some art movements, Volkswagen made a logo to represent themselves, which was one of the first uses of modern commercial logo usage. Then, more art movements and technical advances later, we have Logos today. Wait, what did we learn?
