It's MS paint. Really, I think it just makes sense, and I actually have it and don't have to pay for it like Photoshop or the complicated look of Inkscape or Photoshop. I actually first found this out at Tabletop club, when me and Charles were playing around on the computers. I drew a picture about the fighting Ds and I actually liked it afterwards. I tried it out at home ,at my computer, and I really loved drawing with it. This software is very simple, and it gave me the thick lines that I wanted my pictures to look like, instead of going to a tool on the left, selecting WHICH one I want, and then getting a thin line I don't want. I wanted it simple because I know I'm a bad drawer, and just want a simple drawing tool.

We went through almost a quarter of the year (which is why I'm writing this) and we have made a presentation, a comic, and we are now having a Photoshop tutorial. I think this is exactly what I was expecting from this kind of class, I mean were we going to have boring articles and essays? Hopefully not. We're now getting into the fun stuff since the copyright unit. I think that the rest of the year SHOULD be fun right? It is going to still be a lot of work, I mean I did the comic three times, I'm a little behind on the Photoshop methods and techniques, and my grade is a "little" low. But, the year so far was insanely fun, in a way that doesn't detract from actually taking the class seriously. This type of class, the "fun at some times, serious on the rest" kinds of class. Well, this class is pretty cool and I think that a low grade won't stop that either. I mean I even write a blog (which at the end of the writing it, is actually pretty fun).
...is very different from drawing on paper. I tried using one of the free tools we could use at home, Inkscape, it was really weird. The screen was so slippery and made the picture more rough looking, and not in the stylized way I thought I had. I even had a surface computer, it was even more weird with the pen. Generally, I don't like it, i'm used to paper because there's friction and FEEL to drawing, I always preferred this because I started out like this. But, the software has tools, which make edit easier and make less mess in erasing, as can be seen in the last post. This was mostly before I was in Scientific Visualization, I now know now that there is a way to have the best of both, a drawing pad. We didn't use it yet, but I know it would give us some sort advantage with both of the best parts of drawing on a physical object, and editing with digital software. The only image I've made in Inkscape, or at least the only I want to show. (notice how bumpy it is)
Hey, I have to make a post relevant to our current topic in school. But, we had an ACTUALLY interesting project, making orthographic shots of characters we made. Then, we had to make a comic about these characters. This was really fun, not just for me but for pretty much everybody. People made all kinds of characters, from angel/demon hybrids to bananas to TEH RAANBUHW GUUY, This is what I really expected for this kind of class, using creativity to express what you learned. I had fun with this project, but it was also hard when I did it, when I art (I purposely used the word incorrectly) I have lots of eraser markings by the end. I don't want the finished product to look messy, so I did it again, but I did it in my SKETCHBOOK. So, I had to draw it again on the manila vanilla paper AND I had to do it again so I don't have the ugly eraser marks, so my project was a little late. So, I hated, yet loved, this little project. This relationship is a little bit like this class, I have a low grade, but I really like the class, the people , the material, Mr. B, it is the best. Editor's Note: I forgot to say what I learned so, uh...
The Original Take (I told you it was bad looking) Finished Product(oops I didn't color the hair, or add Shojo to the third panel).
You know, I was just putting up the picture of my characters from the comic strip assignment. Then I just noticed how cool this place is, I mean I never really respected how cool this place was until I put up that photo. I mean it's cluttered and has random stuff, what more could you ask for. I always wanted to be a person that has lots of stuff everywhere and seems very hard-working, when I saw my work place, I realized the exact opposite was true. So, I think this was just noticed when I thought about me going to an art school, both of those make me feel giddy about doing anything like a blog post or assignments. TRUE DARKNESS |
